State
Scot and Jacq Tatelman founded State because they enjoyed the challenge of designing fashionable and functional bags and backpacks. However, they also wanted an outlet to help underprivileged kids. Their company has allowed them to both serve customers with stylish bags and deliver supplies to communities that need help. While State admits that its bags could be more eco-friendly, it’s on the road to full sustainability within a few years. In the meantime, it’s worked on bettering the world by opening and operating Camp Power, an organization that mentors young minds in the New York City area. The company has also donated supplies to schools and communities so kids have a way to carry their schoolwork and necessities between classes.
